Ecoland Organic Socks- Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

I was recently sent a three pack of baby girl's flower socks to try. These socks are made up of 76% organic cotton, 22% nylon, and 2% Spandex. The socks are made in Taiwan according to the website's description, but a front page banner says 'Ecoland is now made in USA'. I'm not sure which is accurate.

*Ecoland contacted me and said they are currently working on switching all products to ones made in the US, but these socks are currently made in Taiwan* 

The socks I received were size 0-12 months. I don't think that sizing is necessarily accurate, as Annabelle is 6 months old and they are still a little big on her. Ecoland also has toddler girl flower socks for the bigger girls.

The socks are soft and stretchy, and I like that they are made of mostly organic cotton.


Here are some facts about organic cotton that came with our organic cotton socks,

 Why organic? Well, most non-organic cotton is treated with pesticides and some of those pesticides stay with the cotton (not to mention damage the Earth where they grow) and can be absorbed by your child's skin.  And that is only one reason...

Why not "conventional" cotton?

Conventional cotton farming uses approximately 25% of the world's insecticides and more than 10% of the world's pesticides.

It takes roughly a third of a pound of chemicals to grow enough cotton for just one T-shirt.

According to the World Health Organization, 20,000 people die of cancer and miscarriages each year in developing countries as a result of the chemicals sprayed on conventional cotton. Farm workers around the world are suffering from serious health problems relating to an over exposure to hazardous pesticides, including asthma, neurological damage and cancer.

Overall, I am not too fond of how these socks fit on Annabelle, they fall off at the moment, but I do think I will like them when her feet are a little bigger. They are a cute print, and they are soft.
