Scared.

In less than 24 hours my husband will be in an operating room... that statement alone is scary enough, but then there are the things that linger in your mind. You know, the things the doctors have to say... all the disclaimers and liability releases. Surgery, although helpful, does not come without very serious risks.

My husband is having an operation on his back. I don't know all the details yet, but any spine surgery is very dangerous. I am so nervous...trying to be strong for him, but so scared. My husband needs this surgery... he is living every day in a lot of pain, which is no way to live. We are hoping this surgery will give him back his ability to be active... but there is a risk that it could take it all away, or even worse, him away.

I try...really, I am trying, to be positive about the situation. It is just scary.... I am just scared.

O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I'll bless his holy name! O my soul, bless God, don't forget a single blessing! He forgives your sins-every one. He heals your diseases-every one. He redeems you from hell-saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy-a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness-beauty eternal. He renews your youth-you're always young in his presence. God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet.

I would be the same way. It's only natural. Surgery like that is SO scary. I'll say a prayer for a smooth sailing surgery and for your peace of mind. *hugs*

It is very scary to go through this, but life will be so much better after all the healing is done.

I broke a disc in '06 and had to have it fixed. The scariest part of the surgery was that as a single mother, I was terrified anything would happen to me and leave my children without a parent. All went well, but now I have three more discs to repair, pop in a metal box, and get fused. I'm putting this one off as long as possible.

Good luck to you all!
