The case of the missing tail....

Here is our friend Curious George:

He is a monkey... right?

Wait.... monkeys have tails. So, George can't possibly be a monkey, can he? But the Man in the Yellow Hat, the scientist, calls George a monkey.

Curious George first appeared in Cecily G and the Nine Monkeys. In this book, none of the nine monkeys have tails, so perhaps they weren't monkeys at all... or perhaps they all had a tragic tail accident. Who knows for sure.
