What's cute, cuddly, and smelly? Hehe.. good smelly at least! It would be a Scentsy Buddy!
Scentsy Buddy is a toy for children over 3.
I am still not sold on the safety of the Scent Pak, as I don't believe the only harmful chemicals out there are ones that have been restricted or banned.
My dislikes: I really don't like that the scent pocket is so easily accessible. I don't want my children to play with the Scent Pak, and with a zippered back that is easy to open, they are able to take it out.
My likes: it is cute, cuddly, and adorable. And, the Scent Pak does smell good. It isn't a strong scent, it is actually fairly light (this could vary depending on scent).
Want to get one for yourself? Well, I am having a Scentsy Party... an online one! There are a lot of other products besides the Scentsy Buddy! Scentsy has a wide selection of warmers and Scent Bars and Bricks for you to choose from as well as some travel tins, and room sprays!
Come check out Scentsy at the Six in the Nest Party and if you purchase you'll have a chance to win a prize (prize value depends on amount of orders).
I was provided with the mentioned products free of charge (except for shipping, which I paid) so that I could provide you, the readers, with a review of the products. I was not compensated monetarily for this post. All opinions are my own. You may have a different experience with the product than my own.
Those cute animal friends hold a small scent pack... every time you give the Buddy a hug, you get a nice smell too!
We were sent Ollie the Elephant from Sarah Bouc- Independent Scentsy Consultant to try out.
Super cute, right? I also picked the Lilac and Violets Scent Pak, and it smells wonderful.
When I first received the Buddy, I was so excited. Unfortunately my excitement waned a little when there was a strong plastic-like smell that came from the Buddy. I opened my Scent Pak and placed it in the Buddy in hopes that the smell overcome the plastic smell. It didn't. However, after contacting the consultant to find out if this was normal (Sarah said it wasn't), I contacted Scentsy and they were able to replace the Buddy that didn't meet my standards. The new Buddy arrived fairly quickly, and I was also sent a pre-paid label so that shipping was easy for me. All I did was package up the old Buddy and affix the label and wahlah.. put it in the UPS drop off box.
The new Buddy still had a faint smell of plastic, but it didn't seem as overwhelming as the first Buddy had had. Customer service was also able to replace the special code that I had torn off my first Buddy. The special code allows you to register your Buddy online and play some fun games. The registration code is on a sliver circle that is attached to the Buddy's arm. Look for it if you buy a Buddy.
The Scent Paks go into a little zippered area on the plush's back, where you would find a battery compartment on toys that need batteries (Scentsy Buddies do NOT need batteries).
I was concerned about the safety of the Scent Pak. I asked customer service about this, and this is what information I was given:
Unfortunately, we are unable to send out an ingredient list, due to the proprietary nature of our product, however there is a list of FAQ’s that I have attached and the following Drawer Statement that was sent out when the Scentsy Buddy’s were introduced: Both the Scentsy Buddy and the Scent Pak have passed stringent product safety testing for the U.S. and Canadian markets, including specific safety tests for children’s toys. Both the Scentsy Buddy and the Scent Pak products passed tests for the following criteria:
· Toxicological assessments for banned and/or restricted chemicals which did not produce detectable amounts of any such substance.· Tear strength and foreseeable misuse· Fabric composition and cleanliness

That's weird that your smelled like plastic, but glad Scentsy was able to send you a new one. I've had Lenny the Lamb since they came out with the Newborn Nursery scent in it :) Thanks for the review, if I didn't already have one I definitely would've been looking to you for some words of wisdom on buying one. (ps: if your worried about the scent paks and your kids getting to it, use them as a car air freshener, they work great for that!)
I hope that Scentsy may someday revise the pocket to include a hidden zipper, or some other means to put in and replace the Scent Pak. I love the smell, but it just makes me nervous.
The Scensty Buddies are absolutely adorable, I really do like them and I hope to get a few more for the rest of my children!
