Aerobie Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

What a fun review we have here today...  I was contacted by Aerobie a little while back and they sent me a few things to review. What kind of things?

Fun, right?!

Okay...sow, what are they and how did they do...

Let's start with the Aerobie Skylighter Lighted Disk. This was the kids' favorite.

There is a light mounted to the underside to the disk, you turn it on and play at dusk or night. The boys were quite obsessed with this, they wanted the light to be on non-stop. I actually had to hide this disk just so that they didn't leave it lit all day. 

The way the Skylighter looks when lit up is really neat, the whole thing glows. My favorite feature on the Skylighter, however, is the rubberized outer ring. This disk is very comfortable, both to throw and catch! The only think I wonder about is how long the battery will last for the light. The battery is replaceable, though so if it does run out it's not the end of the lighted fun!

The Skylighter retails for about $15.

Next let's talk about the Orbiter. 

I was most excited about this product. I have always wanted a boomerang. One that really comes back to you... so naturally, my inner child was excited.

The day we got these I went outside and tried the Orbiter out. Well, that wasn't the best idea. I threw it around for a little while, unsuccessful at getting it to come back to me. I figured I needed to throw it a little higher..... not a good idea in my backyard. We have some HUGE pine trees in the back, and the Orbiter got stuck, several times. It was actually really funny, as my husband would finally get the Orbiter out of the tree and my very next throw would get it stuck again. We decided (okay, he decided) we weren't going to use the Orbiter in the back yard anymore. The information on the Orbiter says to throw it in a clear field...I just couldn't wait to find one.

Well, we finally took it to my in-laws' house....they live in a HUGE field, so no trees to get it stuck in, or so I thought.  I tried, and tried, and tried some more to get the Orbiter to come back to me. I bent the tips a little this way, a little that way; I tried to throw the Orbiter to the left, to the right, over hand, underhand, but it just wouldn't come back. My husband tried....no luck, my father-in-law tried...no luck. Oh well, I was having fun trying! 

I kept trying, but I never did succeed in getting the Orbiter to come back. I did manage to get it to fly in an S shape, which was neat.... but it also made the Orbiter fly about a tenth of a mile into the trees that meet up to the big field. Thankfully the wind knocked the Orbiter back down. :) While the Orbiter didn't work for me, it did get me outside, active, and kept me engaged. 

The Orbiter retails for about $10.

Next on the list we have the Aerobie Sprint Ring.

We loved the Sprint Ring. It was easy to throw, easy to catch. The kids and I really enjoy throwing this ring to one another... and it is very consistent. The boys really learned how to throw this well, and we were able to play without the kids getting upset. This is pretty amazing when you think of the fact that the boys were 7, 6, and 5 years old. Unfortunately the Sprint Ring got trapped on the grandparents' roof while we were visiting (another reason to follow the directions and not throw around buildings, people, or trees). 

The Sprint Ring retails for about $7.

Overall, I am impressed with Aerobie products, and I hope to try some of their other products soon!
